Brenda J. Tyler, 54, of Sanford, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Greenwood Center. She was born in Berlin, NH on January 21, 1957, a daughter of the late Clarence A. Jr., and Ava E. (Dale) Tyler. She graduated from Gorham High School in 1975 and then attended the New Hampshire Vocational Technical Institute.For many years she was employed as a cashier at Wildcat Ski area.Brenda fought a long and courageous battle with MS. A caring and giving individual, she was interested in medical research and any advancements made in looking for cure for MS. She was always willing to try new treatments. It was her wishes that her body be donated to the University of New England Medical School in hopes that someone may take a professional interest in further developments in the field. She is survived by her brother, Robert Tyler and his wife, Christine of Springvale, nephew, Jason Tyler and his wife, Kym, niece, Amy Raymond and her husband, Andrew, and great nieces, Lydia Doiron, Bree Tyler and Margaret Raymond.A Memorial Mass for Brenda will be celebrated on Friday November 11 at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donations in her memory to the Greenwood Residence Council Fund, 142 Main Street, Sanford, ME 04073 or to Beacon Hospice, 42 Brickyard Court, York, ME 03909.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
