Boyd R. "Hambone" Hambleton III, 65, of Alfred, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday October 23, 2005. He was born on August 9, 1940 in Limerick a son of Boyd R. Hambleton Jr. and Della (Smith) Hambleton Shufelt.He attended Sanford schools and graduated in 1958 from Limerick High School. He served in the United States Marines Corps from 1958 until 1961. For many years he worked along with his step dad, Clyde Shufelt at Union Construction. He was also employed 22 years with New England Homes. Following this he became and independent long haul truck driver retiring due to illness.Hambone was a member of the Sanford Elk's Lodge, life member of the Wolve's Club, the Lafayette Club and the Springvale Social Club. A devoted family man, he was loved by all who knew him. He also enjoyed spending time at camp. He is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Elaine M. (Lortie) Hambleton of Alfred, one son, Ricky Hambleton and his wife Patty of Alfred, one step daughter, Debra Dunnells and her husband, Clif of Shapleigh, one stepson, David Dionne of San Diego, CA, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, one brother, Ernest Shufelt of Jefferson, one sister, Valerie Fecteau and her husband, Jerry of Shapleigh, one niece and two nephews.Visiting hours will be on Wednesday October 26 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main Street in Springvale where a funeral service will take place on Thursday at 10am.
