SOUTH PORTLAND - Beverly Ann Wells, 79, of South Portland, died Sunday January 13, 2013 at Maine Medical Center. She was born on July 27, 1933, in Portland a daughter of Salvatore and Celia Marie Romano DeMarino. Beverly attended local schools and was a graduate of South Portland High School. Beverly also attended Northeast Business School in Portland On October 2, 1954 she married Wilmot Webster Wells. They began raising a family. As her children were growing up, she worked as a waitress at the Merry Manor in South Portland. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She was an active volunteer with the South Portland Food Cupboard. For many years, Beverly was a member of the St. John's Women's Bowling League, bowling at the Big 20 in Scarborough. She wintered in Wesley Chapel, Florida. She also had a seasonal campsite in Alfred. She was predeceased by her husband Wilmot in 2009, and a sister Camella Gatley. Survivors include her two daughters, Brenda Roy and her husband Ray of Scarborough, Donna Perron of Somersworth, NH; two sons, Gregory Wells and his wife Susan of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Jeffrey Wells and his wife Kimberly of Windham; two brothers, Joseph DeMarino of McAllen, Texas, Donald DeMarino of Windham; a nephew, Philip Gatley of South Portland; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the chapel followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, Main Street, South Portland. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.Online condolences may be expressed below.

  1. We will always remember the corner of the pool at camp which was reserved for the Roys. Noah enjoyed receiving the beads every year during trick or treat on halloween weekend, even though we are no longer there we will always hold the memories. May you have a special reserved spot in the pool of sun in heaven.
