Barbara Sawyers-Cluff

Barbara M. Sawyers-Cluff, 62 years old, of Kennebunk, ME died Monday February 9, 2004 at the York Hospital in York, ME.Barbara was born on March 23, 1941 in Saugus, MA. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Beatrice Wright Holmes. She attended schools in Saugus, and is a graduate of Saugus H.S.Since 1978 Barbara owned and operated the Powertest Gas Station in Sanford, ME. She was a member of the Sanford First Baptist Church, and past Matron of the Springvale Order of Eastern Star.Most people will remember Barbara as a very outgoing and loving person. She was known in the community as "Ma Sawyers". She enjoyed horses, going to the Cayman Islands, and above all being surrounded by her friends, and loving family.Predeceasing her is her first husband James Sawyers, two brothers, Bobby and Eddy, and her parents.Surviving is her husband Richard Cluff of Kennebunk, two sons, James E. Sawyers Sr. of Springvale, Brian S. Sawyers of Lebanon, a daughter Lisa M. Fenderson of Lebanon, two stepsons, Stanley Ouellette of Pembroke, NH, Brian Ouellette of Concord, NH, a sister Beatrice Mills, a brother Michael O'Keefe, seven grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and an Uncle Lonnie.Visiting hours for Barbara will be held on Thursday February 12, 2004 from 4 to 6 pm and 7 to 9 pm at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME; where funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on the 13th of February.
