Barbara May Lauzon
8/16/1930 – 4/21/2025

Barbara May Lauzon was born in Dover, NH on August 16, 1930, the only child of Maud Etta (Hill) Lauzon and Arnold John Brown Lauzon. She attended Dover schools and was a 1948 graduate of Dover High School. She helped support her family by working at both the local cinema and the drug store while attending high school. Her interests included football, cheering, stock car driving, and the Civil Air Patrol.

She married first Kenneth L. Tibbetts and raised two boys starting in Barnstable, Mass, then secondly Lawrence Brierley in Berwick, ME and raised a son and a daughter. She was a single working mom at Clarostat full time in Dover for many years. She later moved the family to Sanford, ME to raise her two youngest. She taught Sunday School with her son, Larry Lauzon. She kept meticulous health records as children’s illnesses forced her to work less. She was a dedicated and responsible mother with a playful spirit, a strong and independent personality, and a good sense of humor. Her love for Country Music kept her motivated.

She was able to fill an important bucket list dream of visiting Ireland for ten days with her son Larry and his family. She was frequently brought on weekend outings, which bring Larry’s family many fond memories. Barbara dedicated herself to caring for her family as much and as long as she could, with whatever she had and she sacrificed much.

She was predeceased by her son Gary L. Tibbetts of Wolfeboro, NH in 2013. She is survived by three children including Lawrence Lauzon, their wives, eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Barbara was laid to rest beside her parents in Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover, NH on April 21, 2025. She was 94. Arrangements were made by Black-Heald and Walker Funeral Home in Springvale, ME. This is her first obituary prompted by the recent discovery of her passing.
