Aurore Doris Beland

Aurore Beland, 99, of Springvale, Maine, passed away on May 14, 2024. She was born in Springvale on July 17, 1924, the daughter of Francois and Aurore Sevigny. She was educated at Notre Dame School and Sanford High School. Aurore worked at the Sanford Goodall Mills prior to her marriage and then worked with her husband Renaud who owned and operated a restaurant and a superette store for 20 years. As Springvale was going through a structural phase, she and her husband decided to retire. Aurore was a member of St. Ignatius choir and for many years enjoyed crafting, gardening, dancing and especially travelling to Florida, Europe, and the Canadian Rockies. She was very talented in creating beautiful centerpieces, donating many pieces to the St. Ignatius Christmas Fair and selling many pieces through word of mouth. She will be sadly missed by her family, relatives and friends. Aurore was predeceased by her parents Francois and Aurore Sevigny, by her husband of 65 years, Renaud and 9 siblings. Surviving are a son Norman Paul of Springvale, a daughter Celeste Marie and her husband Kenneth Russell of Kennebunk, Maine, one sister-in-law Lorraine Sevigny and many nieces & nephews. A private Christian burial will held at Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale. A special thank you to the compassionate hospice care team Mike, Tina, Lisa, Wendy.
