Arthur A. Salois, 54, of Sanford, died on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford following a brief illness.Arthur was born in Norwich, CT on December 31, 1955 to Roger and Lillian (Devolve) Salois. He grew up in Plainfield, CT where he attended local schools, graduating in 1973 from Killingly High School. In 1998 he graduated from the University of Maine at Presque Isle with a bachelor's degree in social work.Arthur worked for six years as a substance abuse councilor at Aroostook Mental Health Center and then went to work for Counseling Services, Inc. in Springvale. He was devoted to helping people through his work and took a personal interest in helping people turn their lives around.Arthur was a real gentleman and would go out of his way to help somebody. He was an outgoing and friendly person who made friends easily wherever he went. He loved golfing, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, going to the races and spending time outdoors. He was a devoted father and husband who enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.The family would like to expend their gratitude to the Cancer Care Center of York County for their care and compassion during Arthur's illness.Surviving are his wife, Wendy Salois of Sanford, ME; three sons, Steven Arthur Salois and his wife Julie of Portland, ME, Michael Hebert Salois and his significant other, Joanne Trybulski of New London, NH and Shaun Roger Salois and his wife Adria of Waterville, ME; three grandsons, Evan Samuel Salois, Noah and Tristin and two eagerly awaited grandsons, Jacob Arthur Salois and Benjamin Russell Salois; four siblings, Joseph Salois, Gary Salois, Cindy Sanborn and Cathy Salois and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3rd from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME.
