Cote, 64, of West Newfield, died Sunday June 2, 2002 at The Goodall Hospital, Sanford, Maine.He was born in Somerville, MA., on March 14, 1938, he was the son of Maria DeSousa Cote and Eugene Cote.Mr. Cote graduated from Arlington High School in 1955. He attended Bentley College, Boston, MA. He held positions as a bank auditor, Division Comptroller @ McKesson & Robbins, Computer Analyst at Nixdorf Computer, Burroughs, Keydata and Datatronic.He married Martha Swett on May 8, 1964. Mr. Cote moved to Newfield, Maine in September 1976.Mr. Cote was a Co-owner of Apple Computer store in Portland. He has been active in the real estate industry since 1986. He owned and managed Cote & Company with his wife from 1986-1994. He was the Owner/Manager of Dewolfe Webhannet Realty in Kennebunk from 1998- 2001., and was currently a broker with DeWolfe Cote & Howe of Limerick. Some of the past volunteer positions that Mr. Cote held were, President of York County Board of Realtors, Member and Board of Directors of York County Board of Realtors, Member and Board of Directors of The Maine Association of Realtors, Member and Board of Directors of The Maine Real Estate Information Systems, Director of The York County Development Corporation, Chairman of The Newfield Planning Board, Selectman for The Town Of Newfield, Chairman and Executive Committee of the Southern Maine Planning Commission, Chairman of The Southern Maine Economic District, Chairman of The Newfield Finance Committee, Treasurer of The West Newfield Congregational Church UCC and Deacon Emeritis of The West Newfield Congregational Church UCC.When Mr. Cote wasn't working he enjoyed playing piano ad singing with his friends. His family was of utmost importance.Besides his wife of 38 years, he is survived by his children Gregory Cote of Groton, MA., and Wesley Cote of Shapleigh, Maine; a grandson Thomas Cote; sisters Marcia Dyson of Roseburg, Oregon, Donna McLean of Ketchikan, Alaska and Brenda Duggan of Acton, MA; a brother Norman Hollowell, Jr., of MA.Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Heald Funeral Home 580 Main Street, Springvale. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. A funeral will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday At The West Newfield Congregational Church Maplewood Rd., West Newfield, Maine. Interment will take place at a later date.
