Arline E. Landry

Arline E. Landry, 89, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Sanford on April 7, 1921 a daughter of the late Narcisse and Dorilla (Brousseau) Trudeau. She attended St. Ignatius High School, graduating in 1938.On July 5, 1954 she married Gerard J. Landry at Holy Family Church. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish. For many years she was employed by the former Goodall Sanford Textile Mills. She retired in 1988 from the Jagger Mills in Springvale where she had been employed in the spinning room.She enjoyed going on bus tours to Boston, Quebec City and Montreal. What brought her the greatest joy was spending time with family.She is predeceased by her husband, Gerard J. Landry who passed away in 1980.She is survived by her children, Richard P. Landry of Sanford, James D. Landry of Sanford, Margaret Trefethen of Dover, NH, six grandchildren, Laurie Landry, Matthew Landry, Amanda Landry, Peter J. Landry, Curtis G. Landry, Robin Prescott, and Dan Trefethen, one sister, Connie Turgeon Junkins of Sanford, and nephew, Steven Turgeon from Sanford.Visiting hours for Mrs. Landry will be on Thursday, February 3rd from 6 to 8PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
