Antoinette A. Ricard, 92, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2005 in the care of her family after a courageous battle of various medical problems.The youngest daughter of Antoine and Adelia (Gagnon) Hebert, she was born in Fall River, MA on May 22, 1912. Both her parents had died by the time she reached the age of three. Her aunt and uncle, Victoire and Noe Poissant of Biddeford, ME raised her.She retired from Nasson College.She said that her faith and her family were her greatest blessings. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Sanford and served as a eucharistic minister for many years.Her husband Alfred Gauthier predeceased her in 1971. She later married Wilfred Ricard, who passed away in 1998. Also, predeceasing her was her brothers and sisters and a son-in-law Tim Shirley.She is survived by her son, Dr. Arthur R. Gilbert and his wife, Colleen of Dover, Delaware; two daughters, Vivian Shirley of Springvale and Angela West and her husband, Richard of Sanford; a granddaughter, Lynn (West) Walton and her husband Glenn; a grandson, Robbie Gilbert; and many nieces and nephews.An 11 AM memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Holy Family Church, 66 North Avenue, Sanford, Maine; where friends may greet the family beginning at 10:30 AM.The family asks that no flowers be sent, but those who wish may make contributions to: Meals on Wheels, c/o Natalie McMath, 150 High Street, Sanford, Maine 04073, or H.
