LimerickAnnie L. Gilbert, 79, formerly of Limerick died late Wednesday evening, November 14, 2001 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford, ME.Annie L. Gilbert, former wife of Ozias "Philip" Martel, was born on October 28, 1922 in Limerick, ME. She was the daughter of George E. and Alice B. Young Lane. She was raised in Limerick and attended schools there.Mrs. Gilbert spent most of her life in Limerick. While living there she worked at the Limerick Yarn Mill, Harmons Store, and Limerick Footwear for over 15 years.Some of Mrs. Gilbert's favorite things to do where playing cards, dancing, and going out to eat with friends.Predeceasing her is her first husband Ozias "Philip" Martel.Surviving are two sisters, Edna Murch of Norway, ME, Florence Martel of New Jersey, and two sisters-in-law, Bessie Lane of Cornish, ME, and Eleanor Lane of Limerick, ME. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2001 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, Limerick Chapel, Sokokis Trail, Limerick. Following visitation there will be a 1:00 PM funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be private. The Rev. Robert Irish officiating.
