SANFORD Anita A. Ryder, 92, a former resident of Kimball St., died Thursday evening at the Newton Center following a long illness. She was born in Sanford July 10, 1915 a daughter of William & Alice (Legere) Bourque. Anita attended Sanford schools and was a graduate of Sanford High in 1934. She later was employed at the Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills as a mender until their closing in 1954. Anita later went to work at the registry of deeds in Alfred for over 10 years, retiring from there. She was a long time communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish at St. Ignatius Church and was a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne and the Daughters of Isabella.Anita enjoyed cooking, baking and dining out. Her first husband Richard Dart died in 1975 and a brother Yvon Bourque died this past April.Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Joseph Ryder of Sanford her sister Pauline Grondin of Sanford, two stepsons, Joel Ryder of Dover, NH, Stephen Ryder of Portland and a stepdaughter, Kathleen Parlin of Alfred, along with stepgrandchildren and several nieces & nephews.Visiting hours will be held Monday from 9 to 10 :30 AM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 :00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church.
