Anita C. Roy 85, died Monday (Mar 6) at the Newton Center following a long illness. She was born in Sanford October 20, 1920 the daughter of Joseph & Leonie (Beaudoin) Gosselin. She attended the former Holy Family school. During WW II, Anita managed and operated her late brother's grocery store, (Roger's Supa Dolla) until his return from the war. She later was employed at Jagger Brothers, and the former Sanford Shoe Co., and retired from Tennford Weaving.Anita enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and loved to sit on her porch and just watch. She commented that she would sell her house but not her porch. She so enjoyed it. Anita was a long time communicant of Holy Family Church, a member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne the Ladies Auxilliary of the D.A. V. and American Legion. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edgar, a daughter Jacqueline Tranchemontagne and her husband George of Sanford, a son Roger Roy and his wife Suzi of Clearwater, FL along with seven grandsons, a step-granddaughter, and ten great grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 :00 PM Saturday in Holy Family Church. Spring burial will be in St. Ignatius cemetery.In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorial contributions be made to the activity fund at the Newton Center, 35 July St., Sanford 04073 or Waban Assoc. for Retarded Citizens, Inc. 5 Dunaway Dr., Sanford, ME 04073Arrangements by the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home 29 Wwinter St., Sanford, ME.
