He married his high school sweerheart, Mary Hall. They had three daughters, Elizabeth, Susan, and Mary Rachel. He moved back to his home state of Maine in 1960, where he purchased Clover Hill Farm in Alfred from his parents in law, and started his own contracting business, Garland Homes.Andy was a member of the former North Alfred Baptist Church, where he became a Deacon and Sunday school Teacher. He drove the church bus and picked up many neighborhood children to take them to Sunday school.Andy loved to work and built many new homes in Southern Maine. Andy was a cross country tractor driver for several years after his retirement from farming and construction business. He was predeceased by two daughters, Mary Rachel and Susan Garland, brother, Orren Garland, Jr., sister, Pauline Hardy. He is survived by his daughter, Beth Kennett and her sons, Tom and David Kennett of Rochester, Vermont, grandson, Andrew Tuttle of Ocala, Florida, seven great grandchildren, his former wife, Mary Garland of Alfred, Maine, several nieces, nephews in Maine and his nephew, Richard Hardy of Lajolla, California.A Funeral Service will be held on Friday November 21st at 1PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
