Almanzor Pete Therrien

Almanzor "Pete" Therrien, 92 years old, of Sanford, died Tuesday evening, March 22, 2005 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.Mr. Therrien was born in Canada on June 16, 1912. He was the son of Almanzor and Odelie (Morin) Therrien. He attended Sanford schools, and proudly served his country in the United States Army as a medical technician with the 38th Field Hospital in the Marshall Islands, the Mariana Islands, and in Iwo Jima during the Second World War. Mr. Therrien was a communicant of Holy Family Church of Sanford. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and above all watching wrestling matches.Surviving is a son, Peter, his wife Terry, and their son Colby, all of Portland; his wife of 22 years Cecile Therrien and her six children, Robert Plante, Raymond Plante, Patricia Thibodeau, Rita Pelletier and Theresa Cote, all of Sanford, Sister Aline Plante of Rome Italy, and a brother Roland and his wife Lucille Therrien of Sanford.An 11:00 AM Memorial Mass for Mr. Therrien will be held at Holy family Church of Sanford on Monday March 28, 2005.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Greenwood Center Activities Fund, 1142 Main St. Sanford, ME 04073.
