Alice B. Burbank, 98, of Sanford passed away on Sunday June 12, 2005 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Windsor, P.Q., Canada on March 31, 1907 a daughter of Joseph and Omina (Montgminy) Boulay.In 1912 the family moved to Sanford where she attended local schools. She was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church. During WWII she worked at the South Portland Naval Ship Yard as a pipe coverer. She had also worked at Universal Shoe for 10 years. She enjoyed travelling, crocheting and doing word puzzles. She had a 'Green Thumb', she enjoyed caring not only for her plants but other family members plants when they would go on vacations.She is predeceased by two brothers, Romeo Boulay and Wilfred Boulay, two sisters, Ora Duquette and Yvonne Bougie as well as one daughter. She is survived by two sons, Donald Burbank and his wife, Pat of Sanford, Richard Burbank and his wife, Janet of Limington, two granddaughters, Betty Burbank of Kittery and Donna Burbank of Sanford, one great granddaughter, Alix Burbank.A mass of christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 15 at 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home 29 Winter Street, Sanford, Maine.
