Albion R. Bedell

Albion R. Bedell, 90, a lifelong resident of Danvers, MA, passed away on May 24, 2011, at the Seal Rock Nursing Home in Saco, Maine. He was born in Danvers on May 24, 1921, a son of the late Albion P. and Edna R. (Ramsdell) Bedell. He graduated from Danvers High School.After receiving his engineering degree from Northeastern University in Boston, he entered the U.S. Navy during WWII. He received his commission from Annapolis Naval Academy and went on to serve as a lieutenant on a LST in the Pacific.He retired from the town of Danvers as an engineer.Seal Rock Healthcare Facility was his home for past six years where he could be near his niece, Barbara (Barnes) Smith and her husband, Rusty Smith of Shapleigh, Maine. He is also survived by a grand-niece, Lauren (Smith) Parisien and her husband, Jay of Salem, Massachusetts.Burial will be private at the Holten Cemetery in Danvers.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com
