Alberta M. Bernier

Alberta M. Bernier SANFORD, Maine-Alberta Mae (Lounsbury) Bernier, 82, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, after a period of failing health at the Pinnacle Health & Rehab - Sanford. She was born October 12, 1940 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of the late Warren and Zela (Blizzard) Lounsbury. She was a devoted mother and wife who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She worked in the shoe shops, early in life but left to raise her family Alberta was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Edmond J. Bernier Sr., and daughter Lorraine. She is survived by her daughters Sheila Chew, Mary Elwell, Laura Frick and sons Larry and Edmond, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Lodges Care Center, Pinnacle Health & Rehab – Sanford, and Northern Light Home Care & Hospice for the loving care she received while there A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 11 at 1:00 P.M. at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 83 Stanley Road in Springvale.
