Gene A. Bickford 1942-2023 SHAPLEIGH- Gene A. Bickford, 80, of Shapleigh, passed away Monday April 24 at home surrounded by family. He was born in Portland May 20, 1942 the son of Charles and Phyllis (Cummings) Bickford. Gene will forever live on in the collective memories of his surviving family. To be loved by him, was to truly know what it meant to be loved. There was nothing more important to him than family and he never hesitated to show it. His family will always miss his sense of humor, his unwavering joy, and his love for storytelling. He never failed to let his family know how proud of them he was, but in fact, he was the one who truly made the family something to be proud of. Gene was predeceased by his first wife Beverly in 2000 and his second wife Joan in 2018. He is survived by his son, Steven Bickford and his wife Susan of Shapleigh; his grandchildren Ethan, Samantha, Brittany, Cassandra, Tiffany and Jerwayne and his great-grandchildren Peyton, Emry, Nikolai, Liam, Benedict, Calladin and Fallon. There will not be any service at this time.
