She then worked at Marden's Department store in Sanford, Maine before finally having the opportunity to retire.
Emily Mack married Clarence M. Baxter Jr. on April 5, 1969, at the North Lebanon Baptist Church in North Lebanon Baptist Church surrounded by friends and family. They welcomed their only son into the world on July 23, 1971, named Clarence M. Baxter III. They loved to watch their son when he was young, play baseball and football and was proud of him for graduating High School and following in his father's footsteps in the Maine Department of Transportation for work. They were happy to attend their son’s wedding on October 18, 1996.
Emily enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her passion was crafts such as sewing, crocheting, quilting and doll making. She shared this passion with her grandchildren and assured that Connor could make the quilts as she had with the same love. She also passed on her cooking skills to both Connor and Jenna and made sure they knew how to get around in the kitchen. Some of the fond memories of their grandmother were going to the barn to see the horses and go horseback riding and going to the horse rodeos and horse races. They also remember all the fairs that she took them to and that helped instill the arts and craftmanship in both. She also loved attending Connor's baseball games and cheer competitions and attending Jenna's basketball games and field hockey games. Emily also enjoyed spending time with her sister Andrea and going out to lunches with her, she was Emily's best friend to be with.
