Gloria Marie Beeler

Scarborough – Gloria Marie Beeler, 73, passed away on June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was born on June 21, 1951, in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Ernest and Stella (Dion) DuBeau. Gloria was raised in South Portland and graduated from South Portland High School in the Class of 1971.

In 1972, Gloria married, Paul Beeler, at St. Bartholomew Church in Cape Elizabeth. Together, they built a life centered around family, community, and service.

Gloria’s love for children shaped much of her life’s work. She opened her own daycare from home before joining the Scarborough Recreation Department’s aftercare program at Blue Point School. For 37 years, Gloria faithfully served as a crossing guard for the Blue Point School becoming a beloved and familiar presence along Pine Point Road.

Creative and caring, Gloria enjoyed ceramics, sewing, and made many of her children’s clothes by hand. She was deeply devoted to her family and community, and her warmth extended to the many children she helped guide, teach, and protect throughout the years.

She was predeceased by her brother Walter DuBeau and her sister Elaine White.

Gloria is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Paul Beeler; her sons, Michael Beeler and his wife Lisa of Scarborough, Christopher Beeler of Westbrook, and Matthew Beeler of Windham; her siblings: Robert DuBeau and his wife Anne of Wisconsin, Gordon DuBeau and his wife Janice of Virginia, Ernest DuBeau Jr. and his wife Cindy of Bridgton, and Darlene Tucci and her husband Dominic of Gorham. She is also lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Bryce, Grace, Chloe, Morgan, and Riley; and by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of South Portland, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on June 25, 2025, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough. Burial will follow at a later date.
