Theresa C. Charette

Theresa C. Charette, 95, of Springvale, died on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.Theresa was born on June 16, 1925 to Horace and Eliza (Jalbert) Richard in Sanford where she grew up and attended local schools. During her working life she was employed as a seamstress in the local dress shops and also worked as a tailor in her husband's dry cleaning business. In 1946 she married Paul Charette and together they raised three children and shared 54 years of marriage until his death in 2000.Theresa was a loving and dedicated mother who devoted her life to raising her three children and caring for her family. She was a devout Catholic and had been a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish. She enjoyed reading, watching Perry Mason and spending time with her family. Theresa will be remembered as kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Theresa was predeceased by her husband and by two great-grandchildren, Zachary Nickerson and Angelica Mason.Surviving are three children, Claire Mason and her husband Carl of Texas, Rita Couture and her husband Roger of Sanford and Michael Charette and his wife Betty Jean of Vermont; three grandchildren, Jeff Mason, Kimberly Mason and Jennifer Nickerson and seven great-grandchildren, Jackson Nickerson, Sarah Nickerson, Kyle Nickerson, Andrew Nickerson, Sydni Mason, Daniella Mason and Laken Mason.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 14th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.
