Keith Alden Briggs

Keith Alden Briggs, 77, longtime resident of Shapleigh, died December 29, 2003 at H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. He was born May 18, 1926 at home in Springvale a son of William and Gladys (Folsom) Briggs and graduated from Sanford High School. He entered the United States Army and served during World War II. Mr. Briggs was employed as a machinist and retired from Cyro Industries in 1988. Mr. Briggs was devoted to his family and operated a small vegetable stand at his home. He joined the Shapleigh Fire Department and served as fire chief in the 60's. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Briggs of Shapleigh; his son, Alan and his wife, Linda of Waterboro and his daughter, Karen and her husband, Bob Johnson of Limington; a sister, Elaine Fisher of Kennebunk; a brother, Wayne Briggs and his wife Priscilla of Scarborough; five grandchildren, Aaron and Jennifer Briggs, Jeremy and Joe Allen and Jennifer Mahoney; and four great-grandchildren.His brother, Robert Briggs, predeceased him.Graveside Services will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred.
