Donald W. Bourque

Donald W. Bourque, 81, of Sanford passed away at his home on Tuesday December 20, 2005. He was born in Sanford on November 17, 1924, a son of William and Cecile (Bouchard) Bourque. He attended local schools and graduated from Sanford High School.He then served in the Navy during WWII aboard the USS Quincy. He retired from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Following retirement he lived in Barefoot Bay Florida for 12 years. An avid sportsman he enjoyed playing tennis and golf. He was a member of the Sanford Elk's Lodge#1470.He is survived by two daughters, Donna R. Bourque of Sanford and Lynn E. Giroux of Houston, Texas, two grandaughters, Stacey Giroux and Haley Giroux both of Houston, Texas, one step granddaughter, Kristina (McElhinney) Hinkle, one brother, Patrick Bourque of Sanford, two sisters, Anita Kallis of Sanford and Shirley Clark of Auburn.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society 1 Main Street, Suite 300, Topsham, Maine 04086.A Memorial servive will take place on Friday at 11am at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home 29 Winter Street, Sanford.To send a note of condolence to the family please return to the "condolence" icon on the left of this page.
