Randolph S. Page
Randolph S. Page, 94, of Springvale, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, in Scarborough. He was born on July 1, 1923, to Alcide and Alice (Spencer) Page in Springvale, where he grew up and attended local schools. Randy enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1941 and was a POW during World War II.Upon returning from the service, he married Ethel Crabtree and together they had one son, Stephen Page, who passed away in 1989.When he was young, Randy worked at the local mills doing book keeping and office work. He was employed at K & E in Kennebunk, Goodall Hospital in Sanford in patient accounts, and for 15 years at the Osteopathic Hospital in Portland. Randy retired in 1988. He was a member of the Pleasant Street Free Baptist Church in Springvale for most of his life.Randy loved dogs and always had one or two of them. He still drove and lived in his house well into his 90's. He was very proud of his yard, made bran muffins for the neighbors, and liked to have seafood chowder at Sunnyside Restaurant in Springvale.He is predeceased by his wife of 74 years, Ethel Page, his son, Stephen Page and brother Spencer Page.Survivors include a cousin Gertrude MacDonald, and nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held in the spring at Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence click tab at left.
