Karen A. Langevin
Karen A. Langevin, 74, died on September 27, 2017 at her home in Limington. She was born on July 27, 1943 to Omer and Clarine (Tebbetts) Bouthot in Portland. She grew up in West Peru and Mexico, where she graduated high school. After high school, she attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, which launched her life long career. She was employed as a pediatric nurse in California for a few years, and then returned to work in Maine, where she held several various nursing positions. Before retiring, she was a coordinator for rehabilitation centers, where she was involved in social work, and aftercare for patients.Karen married Sylvio Peter Langevin in 1968 and together they raised three children. She enjoyed cooking, sea glass, jewelry, gardening, she loved flowers, decorating for holidays, and she liked to shop for her grandchildren and the people she loved. Karen was Catholic and a communicant of St. Matthews Church in Limerick. What was most important to her was her tight knit family. She had many who loved her and she will be dearly missed.She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Sylvio Peter Langevin, a son, Matthew Langevin, of Standish, two daughters, Kristin Hayes, of Elizabethtown, KY, and Suzanne Lane, of Dominion Valley, VA, a brother Steve Bouthot, and grandchildren, Samantha Langevin, Elizabeth Hayes, Anna Lynn Hayes, Emily Hayes, Genevieve Hayes and Collin Huckbody. Friends and Relatives are invited to a time of visitation on Monday, October 9, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Carll Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale.A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 10, at 10:00 A.M. at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Springvale. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider making a donation in Karen's name to Gosnell Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Rd., Scarborough, ME 04074, or the Maine Medical Center Research Institute, 81 Research Drive, Scarborough, ME 04074, or any charity to raise breast cancer awareness.
