Jacquelin R. Hutchins, 84, of Acton, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Jacquelin was born in Springvale on December 25, 1928 to Charles and Rufina (Hobbs) Nason. She grew up in Springvale where she attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School. While she was in high school she fell in love with Raymond Hutchins who was called away to military service during World War II. When Raymond returned from the military, he and Jacquelin were married and together they raised four children.Jacquelin was employed as a secretary when she was a young woman and she operated a school bus transporting the students of Acton when she was older. The majority of her life was dedicated to caring for and raising her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and always put her family first. Jacquelin and her husband always kept wonderful vegetable gardens and she would can the vegetables for her family to eat. She was a very artistic woman. She enjoyed painting in watercolors, oils and acrylics. She also did stained glass work and made many ceramic pieces which she would fire in her own kiln. Jacquelin will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who was always looking to help somebody in need and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Hutchins, two children, Daryl and Darlene Hutchins and by two siblings, Alvah and Betty Nason.Surviving are two sons, Ronald Hutchins of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Barry Hutchins and his wife Grace of Acton; three grandsons, Aaron Hutchins of Ithica, NY, Benjamin Hutchins and his wife Crystal of Boxborough, MA and Raymond Hutchins of Acton; one great-grandson, Adrian Hutchins of Boxborough, Massachusetts; a sister-in-law, Carol Nason of Watertown, Massachusetts and a brother-in-law, Robert Hutchins of Acton.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with a memorial service following at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 16th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the Autism Society of Maine, 72B Main Street, Winthrop, ME 04364To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
