Grace J Curran

grace curran
Grace Josephine Curran entered Eternal Life on December 17th. She is remembered for her sweet nature, her contented and caring heart, her beautiful smile, her infectious laughter, and her serene blue eyes. She was born in Portland, graduated from South Portland High School, and worked at New England Tel & Tel as a telephone operator. She married Stephen Joseph Curran on October 10, 1970 at Holy Cross Church. Steve & Grace faithfully and lovingly helped the poor - serving together at a local soup kitchen & food pantry. She enjoyed making holy pilgrimages with Steve to special places of prayer and attending daily Mass together. Grace loved Our Blessed Mother Mary very much! She is remembered for her sweetness and kindness, her mercy to those in need, and even her contagious giggle! She brought joy to all! Grace and Steve were true followers of Our Lord, showing compassion to the poor, keeping prayer in their heart each day, and keeping a wonderful sense of humor. As her devoted husband Steve knew so well, it was a blessing just to be in her presence and care for her. Beloved Grace Curran, please pray for us! May your precious soul rest peacefully in the loving arms of Our Blessed Mother Mary whom you love so much! Prayers will be recited at 10:15am on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough, ME. Burial will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Congress Street, Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, ME. 1. I was maybe 2 years old, one time I was staying with her and her Mother ( my Grabdmother). She put me down for a nap and told me to take and go to sleep. Or I would get it if I didn’t. I never forgot that. That was ine time. One other time was going to see a movie at the drive in on route 1. ( Cole miners daughter was playing). Another time was when bith her and Steve went out for the Evening. I was baby sitting for their adopted son. I got to stay over night. And eating breakfast that they cooked.
