PORTLAND - Barbara M. Jones, 69, of Walker Street, died Friday, June 24, 2011, in Portland. She was born on May 30, 1942, in Leavenworth, Kansas, a daughter of Emerson and Laura Durling Bennett. Barbara worked as a private housekeeper in Leavenworth Kansas and the greater Portland area. She enjoyed completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Portland. She is predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Bennett and a sister Betty Sprague. She is survived by her life partner of 25 years, Gary Shaw, of Portland; a daughter, Alison Moore of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Louise Ward of Kansas, and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held, 9:00 am, Thursday, at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
