PORTLAND - Louis Coleman Concannon, 89, died Thursday May 3, 2012, at Maine Medical Center. He was born February 12, 1923, in Portland, a son of Coleman and Delia (Curran) Concannon. Louis grew up in Portland, attended local schools, and Cheverus High School. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the Signal Corp in Asian Theater of Operations. Louis enjoyed a career as a carpenter. He was a member of the Harold T. Andrews American Legion Post #17 of Portland, the Irish - American Club of Portland, and the Portland Boys Club. Louis enjoyed cooking and often shared his dishes with the people of 100 State Street. He loved to play golf and was a former member of Riverside Golf Course. In addition to his parents Louis was predeceased by a brother, William Concannon, and sister, Anne Cloutier. He is survived by a brother Michael Cancannon of Bath; and two sisters, Julia Cichosz, and Mary Keaney of Portland, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 2-5pm Tuesday May 8, at Conroy - Tully Crawford Funeral Home 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited at 9:15am Wednesday May 9, at the funeral home followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, corner of Broadway and Cottage Rd., South Portland. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.Online condolences may be expressed below.
