Bangor-Alan M. Fortin Jr., 38, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Bangor, Maine.
AJ was born in Waterville, Maine on October 2, 1984 the son of Alan M. Fortin Sr. and Michelle M. (Mavor) Castonguay. He graduated from Leavitt Area High School in the class of 2003 and continued his education at Beal College learning the trade of welding.
AJ would pick-up welding jobs wherever needed but more recently worked at Solstice Senior Living Center in Bangor. AJ loved his job at Solstice and the residents loved him as he was always using his sharp wit and great sense of humor to make them laugh.
In his spare-time he enjoyed watching the New England Patriots. AJ was always willing to help others any way he could and would give away his last dollar, going without, so that he could help someone less fortunate than himself. He loved people and firmly believed that “Everyone has a story,” he was always willing to listen. His greatest love was the time spent surrounded by his family and thoroughly enjoyed being a dad. He was also a lover of all animals, especially his cats. Dad jokes and funny memes were AJ’s platform for always trying to make people laugh.
AJ was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Theresa Mains; Maternal grandfather, Joseph Ross Mavor; step grandfather, Albert Dunn. He is survived by his father; Alan M. Sr. and his wife Theresa Fortin of Greene; his mother, Michelle Castonguay of Biddeford; two sons, Brice Fortin of Leeds, ME and Noah Ziegler of Charlotte, ME; a sister, Tracy Fortin of Biddeford; step sister, Milene Rodrique of Greene; a brother, Jeffrey Castonguay of Windham; step brothers, Andre and Thomas Rodrigue of Greene; a nephew, Nicholas Sherman of Biddeford; loving partner, Kristen Morin of Bangor; maternal grandmother, Nancy Dunn of Bangor; several nieces and nephews.
