PORTLAND - Therese E. Mank, 84, formerly of Capisic Street, died Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lowell Massachusetts on December 15, 1928 the daughter of Frederick V. and Elizabeth T. Lynch. She attended local schools in Lowell and Braintree, Massachusetts and graduated from Presque Isle High School in Presque Isle, Maine after moving there with her family. Therese married Robert V. Mank on September 3, 1956. They met when they both worked for Nelson Small during the 50's and 60's. She then went on to work for more than thirty years for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Maine. Therese was a long time member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Portland, where she was very active in church activities. As a young woman, Therese, enjoyed making several trips to Europe, she enjoyed spending time at the beach and reading a good book. She also enjoyed keeping in touch with family, and friends which she had made early in life while living at the YMCA in Portland after moving from Presque Isle. Therese was predeceased by her husband, Robert V. Mank on November 3, 1992 and three sisters Dorothy A. Dunham, Mary F. Humphrey and Ellen P. White. She is survived by a sister Janet A. Bird of Portland; daughter Meghan P. Mank of Falmouth; her two dogs Panda and Teddy; a nephew Michael T. White of Falmouth and many other nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 8:00am. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9:15 on the same day followed by an 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Ocean Ave, Portland. Burial will follow at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta, Maine.
