Mrs. Sheila M. (Connors) Ridge, 79, of Portland, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Born in Arklow, County Wicklow, Ireland, Sheila came to the United States in 1969. Sheila and her husband Raymond met in Ireland while he was on a family trip. Together, they shared 29 years of marriage. Sheila worked as a CNA at Seaside Rehabilitation for several years before she worked at the Mother House on Stevens Ave. from 1993-2000. She was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Sheila was one who always put others above herself. She had a heart of gold and she enjoyed gardening. Above all else, Sheila would go above and beyond for her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond P. Ridge. She is survived by her children, Ruth Ridge, Bridget Ridge and Raymond Ridge and wife Violy, all of Portland. Also survived by grandchildren, Amy, Brittney, Kaeyle, Sanella, Christopher, Nichole; great-grandchildren Alexa, Michael, and Raelynn. Visiting Hours will be on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 4-7PM at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 9:15AM at the Funeral Home followed by A Mass of Christian Burial 10AM at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress St., Portland. Burial will follow in Old Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland.
