Shaun P. Silke

South Portland - Shaun P. Silke, 52, of Memory Lane died unexpectedly on Sunday April 3, 2022, at his home. Shaun was born in Portland, Maine on March 23, 1970, the son of Dennis C. Silke, Sr. and Jill (Hannaford) Silke. He attended South Portland Schools in the class of 1988. On July 10, 1999, Shaun married the love of his life Claudia Thompson in Westbrook, Maine. He was a beloved husband, son, father, uncle, nephew, and friend to all. Shaun worked as an Industrial Maintenance Technician for 32 years at Nichols Portland, Irwin Industrial Tools, and Helical Solutions. In 2022 Shaun opened his own business, SPS Electro-Mechanical. He was extremely hard working, very accomplished in his field and attended many training seminars to learn new techniques. As a young man, Shaun loved BMX biking and competed in many races. He loved listening to heavy metal music and attended many concerts with his brothers and friends. In his spare time, Shaun enjoyed fishing, playing darts and pool; he was a huge Philadelphia Eagles and Boston Red Sox's fan. Shaun was very friendly and outgoing and could make friends with anyone. Shaun was charismatic, generous, kind, thoughtful and had a great sense of humor; he was loyal to all his family and friends. Shaun was predeceased by his father, Dennis C. Silke, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Silke of South Portland; two sons, Shane Thompson and his companion, Alyssa Powell of Raymond and Ryan Silke of South Portland and his companion, Phebe Tice; his mother, Jill Silke of South Portland; two brothers, Dennis Jr. and his wife Claire Silke of Saco, Scott and his wife Michelle Silke of Lebanon; several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of Shaun's life will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 2-5 at the Portland Elks Lodge and Events Center, 1945 Congress Street, Portland, Maine.
