SOUTH PORTLAND - Roland Arthur Thibodeau,74, of South Portland, died on December 28, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Van Buren, Maine, a son of Leonard and Jeanne LeClerc Thibodeau. He graduated from Van Buren High School in 1957. Roland worked as a ballroom dance instructor in Philadelphia and New York City. He owned his own studio in New York. Following his retirement and relocation to Maine he worked at Wal-Mart for 15 years. As a young man he enjoyed deep sea fishing and in his later years enjoyed doing the daily crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Roland was predeceased by his parents and by two sisters, Patricia and Dorothy, and two brothers, Richard and Gerald. He is survived by a sister, Florelle M. Pritchett, of Charlottesville, VA, a sister-in-law Diane Thibodeau of Florida, a nephew, Josh Duncan of Virginia, and close personal friends, John Kennedy and his daughters, Hannah and Emilie Kennedy, of South Portland.
