Mary Elizabeth Tourtillott Moore, 98, formerly of Gorham, died March 16, 2015 at Mercy Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born January 16, 1917, in Portland, a daughter of James and Mary (Murphy) Sullivan. Mary attended Portland Schools. During her life, Mary worked for Burrowes Corp., Genest Bakery, Pine Point Nursing Home, and she volunteered for RTP/Prop. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. Mary always enjoyed staying busy whether she was playing beano, crocheting, shopping, or simply sitting on the porch reading a book. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Alfred Tourtillott in 1980; her second husband Ralph Moore in 1994; brother James Sullivan and his wife Helen; sister Ann Leeman and husband Frank. Surviving are: Daughters, Nancy Burt and her husband Bruce of Cornish, Helen Murphy and her husband Michael of Scarborough; grandchildren, Bruce Burt Jr., Chad Burt and his wife Tiffany, Kristie Murphy, Jennifer Turkewitz and her husband Mark; 6 great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Charlene, Joyce and Donna; nieces and nephews, Maureen, Jeff, Dan and Betty. Visiting hours will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 9:15AM at the funeral home, followed by a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland.
