Cumberland - Kenneth George Forsythe, 74, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Jan. 20, 2024.\n\nKen was born on February 28, 1949 in Medford, MA, the son of Elmer and Agnes (Parsons) Forsythe.\n\nKen met his wife at Centre Methodist Church in Malden, MA; they then married on May 22, 1971. After approximately 30 years with The New England Mutual Life Insurance Company, he retired to Maine with his wife to be closer to friends and family.\n\nKen had an unfiltered sense of humor; he brought laughter and smiles to any occasion, whether it was appropriate or not. He was always the life of the party, telling jokes from behind the bar.\n\nKen found joy in reading, singing, and playing guitar. He liked folk music and often went to live performances. He also enjoyed golfing, tennis, bowling, and softball. He liked his annual trips to Mexico and Las Vegas and embarked on many cruises. Ken jokingly became known as the 'omelet king' for his breakfast-making expertise and was well known for his famous salsa. A fun and loving man, he played cards with his lifelong friends for over 50 years. He also gave back through his involvement in his church community. Throughout the years, he was an intricate part of the leadership at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in North Reading, MA, and later at the Tuttle Road Community Church in Maine.\n\nHe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Paula J. Forsythe of Cumberland; daughters, Susan Forsythe and her partner Gary Lombardi of Raynham, MA, and Kim and husband Brian Gallagher of Roslindale, MA. Brother Paul and wife Kathryn Forsythe of Reading, MA, and sister Joyce Curry of Merrimack, NH. Nieces and nephews, Kelly, Jillian, Dan and Adam.\n\nA Celebration of Life will take place at 1 pm on Saturday, January 27th, at Tuttle Road Community Church, 52 Tuttle Rd., Cumberland, ME 04021. A reception will follow.\n\nShould friends desire, contributions may be sent to Tuttle Road Community Church or to a charity of your choice.
