SOUTH PORTLAND John Paul Orlowski, 66, of Preble Street, died peacefully on October 29, 2015 after a long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was blessed to have his wife, three children and nephew at his side as he passed into eternal life. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, the eldest son of John B. and Pauline (Wisneski) Orlowski and later raised lovingly by Edward Orlowski. He graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1967 and St. Francis College in Biddeford, Maine in 1971. John and Suzanne Boles met in 1980 and have made a lifetime of cherished memories together. John was a playful, creative and energetic husband, father, uncle and Grampy. He had a love of the outdoors, boating, dogs, do it yourself projects, cooking, and fun surprises. He openly shared these joys with his children and grandchildren. John dedicated his career to helping others. Whether teaching visually impaired children or involved in hospital administration, he was always a part of medical community. John is survived by his wife Suzanne, his three children, their spouses, and his seven grandchildren;John Edward and his wife Lisa Orlowski, and their children, John Joseph and Drew Alexander of New Jersey; Matthew and his wife Marjorie C Boles, and their children, Jacob Matthew, Sarah Frances, Ryan James and Ruth Elizabeth of South Portland; Joseph Orlowski and his wife Liberty Howell and their child August Wardwell, of New York; also surviving are his five siblings and their families, Mrs. Bonnie Brasher with husband, Larry and daughter Kelly; Mrs. Valerie Barlok with husband Rick and children Todd and Kristen; Mr. Skip Orlowski with wife Linda and children Dan, Curran and Colin; Mr. Edward Orlowski with wife Ilene and daughter Lindsay; Mr. Rick Orlowski and children Adam and Eric. John P. Orlowski had been a communicant of Holy Cross Church, where two of his grandchildren are students today. He is remembered as gentle, kind, patient, playful, and giving. Despite his illness, Buster found so much joy in attending the Orlowski family reunion last month in Connecticut. Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 3, at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 10:15am followed by an 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland.
