SOUTH PORTLAND - Jane K. (Hamilton) Lord, 72, of South Portland, died Friday, October 10, 2014. She was the wife of Daniel J. Lord, Jr. with whom she shared nearly 52 years of marriage. Born in Portland on May 1, 1942, Jane was the daughter of the late James Hamilton, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Mooney) Hamilton. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy Class of 1960 and then furthered her education by attending beauty school in Portland. During her life, Jane was a hairdresser for several years before working as an office manager at K-Mart in Scarborough until her retirement. She enjoyed spending her summers on Peaks Island at the Hamilton Family Cottage, frequenting local restaurants, watching the planes at the airport and playing bingo when she could. Above all else, Jane had a tremendous amount of love for her family, she was wonderful mother with a kind and gentle soul and was quick to welcome her daughters friends into the family. She was also a devoted grandmother who enjoyed the time spent with her granddaughter Tasia. She loved to travel enjoying several family trips to Florida, cruises with family and friends and the occasional trip to Las Vegas. One of her favorite trips was when she and her husband visited her life-long pen pals in England. She loved going for drives and enjoyed a two week driving trip through Europe with her mother, family friend and daughter Kelly in 1982. In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her brother, James Hamilton, III. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Lord, Kelly Lord and Carol Lord, all of South Portland; granddaughter, Tasia Lord of South Portland; sister, Rita Farnsworth of FL; brother, Jack Hamilton and his wife, Shirley of Windham; sisters-in-law, Judy Rawding of Windham, Cindy Wilson and her husband, Dave of Sebago Lake and Suzanne Trask of Westbrook; brothers-in-law, Stephen Lord of Westbrook and Robert Lord and his wife, Kandy of Standish. Visiting hours will be held 4-7PM Tuesday at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited 10:15AM Wednesday at the funeral home followed by an 11:00AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Rd, Scarborough. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.   1. We are going to miss our sister-in-law/aunt, Aunt Jane. She was a wonderful person and was full of fun. We will always remember the laughs we shared during our family trip to Florida and at several family gatherings. Kandy will miss talking with Jane about their common love for Bingo… and gambling.
