James Francis Murphy

Portland- James F. Murphy, 72, of Brighton Ave. passed peacefully on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Baron Center after several years of declining health. James was born in Portland, Maine on June 13, 1949 the son of the late Louis E. and Phyllis K. (Cyr) Murphy. He attended local schools and graduated from Portland High School in the class of 1967. He also attended Bryant & Stratton Jr. College and then Northeastern and Husson University earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration. James worked as a computer programmer and analyst, working for State Street Bank and Trust, William B. Filenes and Sons, SMD Industries, DDI, South Shore Mental Health Associates, Fugi, Coastal Community Counseling Centers Commonwealth of Massachusetts along with various other positions. James was predeceased by a brother, Rev. Thomas M. Murphy. He is survived by a sister, Janice M. Murphy of Portland. At the family's request all services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, ME.
