SOUTH PORTLAND - Gertrude Anastasia Ann Leeman, 95, formerly of Summit Street, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at South Portland Nursing Home. She was born in Portland a daughter of James W. and Mary Ellen Murphy Sullivan. Ann attended parochial schools. Ann was married to Frank A. Leeman for 62 years. For many years she worked as a stitcher in the shoe factories, working for Herman Shoe and Songo Shoe. Ann later worked at Pine Point Manor in Scarborough, prior to her retirement. She was a long time communicant of Holy Cross Church. Ann was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2011 and her brother James A. Sullivan in 2012. Ann enjoyed a long, loving happy, life with her devoted husband Frank. Her wonderful spirit and heart of gold touched many. She brought sunshine and happiness wherever she went. The many wonderful memories of our family picnics, dinners and camping trips brought joy to us all! Ann and Frank treasured visits with everyone they met. They enjoyed wonderful memories with their friends at Spurwink Farm. The visits had always included the horses and two donkeys ( Jos(c) and Joseph). Ann's visits to the farm continued even after her husband's passing with the company of a dear friend Pat Lyle. With her green thumb, Ann created many beautiful gardens. Her love of nature and all its creatures brought her great joy. She is survived by her sister Mary E Moore; nieces and nephews, Nancy Burt and husband Bruce, Helen Murphy and husband Mike, Elizabeth Sullivan, Dan Sullivan, Jeff Sullivan, Maureen Sullivan Pundt and husband Ralph. We love you Ann! Visitation will held on Thursday, from 5-7 p, at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at the chapel at 9:15 am on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland, Maine.
