Ed and I worked side by side for years at the basketball tournaments at both the Expo and the Civic Center. He was a lovely person. My father also knew him from when he coached football at SP High. He’ll be missed.

I got to know Ed when I coached the S.Portland boys basketball team in the 1980’s. Ed was the timer and we had many good talks about sports, live, and other less serious things. What gentleman he was! Ed was always genuine, supportive, and willing to do anything for kids. I respected him so much;he was a great man. My thoughts are with his family. I am truly saddened by the news of his passing.

Kim, Mitchell and Jessica, I want to extend on behalf of my family our deepest sympathy. Not only was Ed my godfather but an uncle from heaven. He encouraged me as a child and loved me as an adult, a gift that I will never forget. As my Mom’s baby brother and the last of the Ochmanski boys, he will be greatly missed by all. He left, however, a legacy of love which will not be forgotten. Please carry on his love for others in tribute to a man who personified life, laughter and love.
