I am better for having known Cliff+Mary for years at St. Vincent De Paul soup kitchen on Tuesdays. Having a mutual friend from my hometown kept me connected with Paul V. For me personally , how Cliff=Mary embraced and welcomed and nurtured my close friend Judy G. As Judy came on board on Tues. crew . They were very gentle and compassionate as Judy gained experience and is presently a full time voltr. on tues. So= job well done Cliff= Mary!! RIP my friend Cliff.. PS… miss you Mary …

I enjoyed singing alongside Clif for several years with the Gorham Community Chorus. His sense of humor enhanced many a rehearsal, and several times we caught ourselves snickering like misbehaving schoolboys. Whenever I hear “God Bless Ye Merry Gentleman,” I fondly recall his solo rendition where he mistimed his breathing, offering tidings of comfort and …(breath)…joy. His ability to poke fun at himself reminds me what a gracious and humble man he was. I offer my condolences to his family and close friends for your loss.

Dear Mary,We are sad to read Cliff’s obituary in today’s paper, while we’re spending the summer at our cottage on Panther Pond in Raymond. Of course we knew that having Parkinson’s presented many challenges for him these past few years, but we also know that this doesn’t make his passing any easier for you. We wish we’d known him earlier in his life and been able to talk about his work in film and, especially, his work with Margaret Meade. We’ll be thinking of you as you adjust to life without him and pray that your brief years together have provided you with many happy memories to help sustain you.Sincerely,Sarah and John Mills, 3K Portland House
