Whitworth II on November 24, 1955. They started their family in Lowell and soon move to Salem, New Hampshire; followed by a move to South Portland, where they would raise their family until relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada. Peggy and Jim were proud to leave behind a legacy of developing the small neighborhood and street named Whitworth Dr in South Portland. She had a 20 year career with JC Penny Co. Following retirement, Peggy and Jim returned to South Portland. Peggy was an incredible mother to her 5 children. Althoughless than 5 feet tall, her love was immeasurable. She considered her family to be her resume and her wealth will be measured by the love she leaves behind. Peggy loved spending time in her garden and to crochet. Peggy earned a lifetime discount at JC Penny Co as part of her retirement benefits. She was a master at shopping sales and getting her 25% discount on top of her savings. Peggys favorite memory was her surprise 70th birthday party. All of her family was able to attend. For several days before the actual party, everywhere Peggy went, a family member would show up and surprise her. Family traveled as far away as Alaska to participate. She is predeceased by her parents; three sisters, Marie Sarkissian, Irene Eno, and Frances Eno; and son-in-law Mark Thibeault. Peggy is survived by her loving husband Jim who considered it an honor to have been married to her for 59 wonderful years; three daughters, Jayme Upton and husband Al of Signal Mtn., Tennessee, Carrie Whitworth and husband Joe Brizeno of Henderson, Nevada, and Tammy Thibeault of South Portland; two sons, James V. Whitworth III and wife Deborah and Joseph Whitworth and wife Patsy, all of Henderson, Nevada; a sister, Alice McDonough; a brother, Raymond Eno; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews Peggys biggest joy was being Nanny to her 10 grandchildren; Cortney Thatcher, Lindsay Thibeault, Casey Adamson, Lauren Swartz, Nick Sebastian, James V. Whitworth IV, Daniel Upton, Gradon James Thibeault, Danielle Whitworth and Austin Whitworth-Brizeno. She considered herself even more blessed by her 8 Great Grandchildren; Reese Farrell, Xander Adamson, Noah, Easton Jameson Sebastian, Emery Swartz, Berit Thatcher and soon to be baby boy Thatcher. My thoughts and prayers are with Casey Adamson and her family. Although I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Doris, I can tell that she was a special woman and meant so very much to Casey. The relationship between a grandma and granddaughter is unique and Doris clearly made a huge impact on Casey’s life. Hugs and kisses to my friend Casey.
