SCARBOROUGH - Doris Marie Oliver-Meehan, 81, of Scarborough, died peacefully June 23, 2011 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with her loving family by her side. She was born April 3, 1930 in Caribou, Maine, a daughter of Abel Thomas and Eva Santerre Levasseur. Her family moved to the Portland area and Doris was a 1947 graduate of Cathedral High School. Prior to her marriage, Doris worked as a secretary for E.S. Boulos. She married Donald E. Oliver July 30, 1948 in St. Dominic's and began raising her family. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church. During her career, she worked as a secretary for Mercy Hospital and later worked as a secretary for Oliver Vending Company. She was a former member of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. Doris was predeceased by her parents; her husband Donald in 1990; her second husband Paul Meehan in 2010; a sister, Marcella LaVasseur in 2000 and two infant brothers. Surviving are:~four sons, Donald S. Oliver and his wife Betsey of Clermont, FL, Kim Michael Oliver and his wife Lynn of Scarborough, Brian A. Oliver and his wife Bonnie of Gorham, Peter A. Oliver and his wife Melissa of Scarborough; a daughter, Melissa Hudson, PharmD. of South Carolina; two sisters, Lorraine Jonassen of Gorham, Gloria LaVasseur of Scarborough; thirteen grandchildren: Lynne, Jason, Eric, Andrew, Tyler, Nathan, Heather, Jessica, Jordan, Nicholas, Matthew, Reagan, Julia~and~nine great grandchildren: Samantha, Jason Jr, Brendan, Ryan, Julia, Jade, Calvin, Job, Haden. The family would like to give special thanks to Auntie Glo for her care and companionship, and would also like to thank the staff at Piper Shores and Hospice of Southern Maine. Visiting hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 24th at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 25th at the chapel, followed by a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 150 Black Point Road, Scarborough.
