Carroll Nelson Libby

Scarborough- Carroll N. Libby, 88, of Burnham Road, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Maine Medical Center. Carroll was born in Machiasport, Maine on February 5, 1932 the son of the late John I. and Sadie (Pettigrew) Libby. He attended local schools and graduated from Washington Academy in East Machias in the class of 1950. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. On November 4, 1966 he married Gladys D. Casey in Portland, Maine. Carroll worked as a supervisor at the Maine Mall Food Court, in South Portland, Maine. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing basketball, and treasure hunting with his metal detector. Carroll was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Marie (Libby) Arbo. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gladys Libby of Scarborough; two sons, Gary V. and his wife Jennifer Libby, and Ty Scott Page; daughter, Erin Carol Libby; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours celebrating Carroll's life will be held Tuesday, June 2, form 3-6PM at Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, followed by a funeral service celebrating Carroll's life on June 3, at 11AM. A private interment will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park. Per state restrictions, up to 50 people will be permitted in the building at any given time.
