Portland- Carolyn Ann Lydon, 79, formerly of Broadway in South Portland, died peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center in Portland following a long illness.
Carolyn was born in Portland, Maine on June 12, 1938, the daughter of the late Martin H. and Margaret M. (Curran) Lydon.
She lived most of her life on Broadway in South Portland. Her entire life was centered on family, friends, faith, and her church family at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Carolyn was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Henry, Walter, and John; sisters, Mary Johnson and Alice Falcone. She is survived by many nieces and nephews along with their families.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Center for the love, care, and dignity they provided Carolyn during her stay there.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at 9:00am at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, where prayers will be recited at 9:30am followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland, Maine. So surprised to learn of Carolyn’s death,
The last few times I visited Carolyn she was sleeping soundly.
Her beautiful smile touched many and what a welcoming she received from Jesus.
