Yolande L. Payeur

Yolande L Payeur, 89, of Sanford, passes away peacefully on April 13, 2016 at the Newton Center with her family by her side. She was born on January 6, 1927, a daughter of the late Albert and Yvonne Vachon. After raising her children, which were very important to her, she went to work first at the dress shop and later at the shoe shop where she worked till her retirement. She was also a long time member of both the Daughters of Isabella and Ladies of St. Anne. She married Ernest Payeur on January 7, 1989 and together they enjoyed their retirement traveling the country, including Alaska and Hawaii. After the death of her husband, Yolande moved to the Hillcrest Gardens assisted living, where she enjoyed the company of her friends and staff and also enjoyed the many different activities going on, on any given day. Whether it was games, bingo being her favorite or a bus trip shopping or a picnic, she was always involved and was happy. Survivors include a brother, Paul Vachon and his wife, Doris, a sister, Pauline Carrier and brother Robert Vachon and his wife, Cheryl. Her children, Pauline Bragg and her children Elaine, Debbie and Denise. Michael Normand and his wife Diane and children Jeremy and Vikki. Roland Normand and his wife Linda and children Jessica and Timothy. Suzanne Paiement and husband Michael and children Sarah, Shannon and Shelby and daughter in law Marilyn Young. Step children, Richard Payeur and wife Sylvia and children Keri and Erica, Maurice Payeur and his wife, Terry and children, Christy, Mira, Kristen, Karina, Danielle, Rita Soulard and husband Gerard and children Courtney and Elizabeth. Norman Payeur and Janet Boivin and her husband Roland and children Meghan and Kaitlyn, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Ernest, a son Daniel, her brother Arthur and step-son Raynald. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of both the Hillcrest Gardens and Newton Center for taking Yolande into your care and hearts and making her special. And also a special thank you to Dr. Frank. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 6 to 8PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.
