William A. Zizka

William A. Zizka, Sr., 87, of Sanford, died at his home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.William was born in Connecticut on October 3, 1925. He grew up in a large family with ten siblings, in the 1940's he served in the U.S. Navy for three years. During his working life he was employed as a welder for Betchel and also for United Engineers and Contractors. William enjoyed doing carpentry and had built his own home with his wife Joan. He also enjoyed gardening and fishing. We was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.William was predeceased by his son, William Zizka, Jr.Surviving are his wife Joan; two children, Gene Zizka and Nancy Kist; four grandchildren, Erik, Patrick, Tabitha and Elijah and relative, Bette Parris.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 25 at the Sanford Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located on Westview Drive in Sanford.
