William J. Mulvey, Jr., 77, of Parsonsfield, a longtime resident of Nashua, NH, died July 15 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford after a lengthy illness.He was born in New Haven, CT on August 15, 1933, the son of William J. and Kathleen (McLaughlin) Mulvey, Sr., and attended New Haven schools.Mr. Mulvey proudly served his country in the US Army in Korea.A resident of Nashua, NH for 40 years, he was employed as a welder at several manufacturing companies in the Nashua area. He became a master plumber and worked all over New England on major construction jobs for the Pipefitters Union, including the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station. He retired to Parsonsfield in 2001.He was active in Masonic circles and at the time of his death was Senior Warden for the Freedom Masonic Lodge in Limerick.His family recalled that he was a great Dad and loving grandfather. He coached his sons through several youth sports including ice hockey and baseball. He also was an avid fisherman.Survivors include his wife of over 55 years, Doris L. (Albee) Mulvey of Parsonsfield, son William J. Mulvey, III, his wife Stephanie and their children Hannah and Liam of Gilbert, AZ, son Michael P. Mulvey of Hudson, NH, and son James T. Mulvey, his wife Jill and their children David and Christopher of Concord, NH.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday July 19th at 3PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, where ritualistic services by the members of Freedom Lodge #42 AF & AM will be conducted. Burial with military honors will take place at later date at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
